My Story

 

Early on

Ashley grew up in central Florida joining and competing in United States Pony Club at a young age. Her passion for horses only grew with time as she worked her way up the levels of Three Day Eventing and learned general horsemanship as taught by USPC.  Ashley had a successful career in 3 Day, being #10 in the country and #1 in Florida for Training Level Rider during high school.

Education

Ashley achieved her Bachelor’s Degree in Media Communications and Environmental Studies at the Florida State University. After graduating, Ashley spent the following five years working as Assistant Trainer for renowned horse trainer, competitor and FSU Dressage coach, Marsha Hartford Sapp. Ashley moved her horses to Southern Oaks Equestrian Center where she lived on site and worked full time teaching lessons, working with training horses.

Filmmaking

Ashley is an International Film Festival winner with her short film about trainer Marsha Hartford Sapp. “Cobra the Mustang” won Best of Festival Short, Best Film Showcasing the Horse to Human Bond, and Best Music Video for 2019. The film also won Best Wild Horse Music Video at the 2018 Equus Film Festival in Brooklyn, NY, while her film about Sandra Beaulieu, “Begin the Dance,” won Best Art Film at the festival. With her business, Ash Equine Productions, she uses her insight to produce high quality promotional, sale, and creative films for equestrian clientele.

Yoga

In addition to her accomplishments as an equestrian, Ashley is also is a Yin and Vinyasa Certified Yoga Instructor. She uses yoga concepts to guide Equestrian Yoga workshops that focusing on safety, staying present, and setting intentions. Using breathing techniques, mindfulness practices, and strengthening exercises to guide riders, she is passionate about helping riders manifest healthy, happy relationship with both themselves and their respective horses.
